Blubster is a
peer-to-peer file exchange program based on the MP2P protocol or Manolito protocol, as its developer, Pablo Soto, sometimes calls it.
It is an
innovating and alternative way to share files, because it uses the
UDP protocol to carry out the data transfer. Thus, it is possible to maintain
anonymity and the connections reach a quicker
transfer speed.
This program doesn't use central servers, it creates a network of interconnections among all the users that are connected, from which we will be able to choose the songs that we want to download. It is specialized in
audio files, even though it leaves the door open to the possibility to
download other files.
Blubster stands out due to a
simple interface that includes the characteristic options of all P2P applications, like performing searches with the file name, pause/resume the downloads,
download from one or various users at the same time, etc... It also shows the
rating of all files and essential information to know the sound quality like the bitrate or the sample frequency. Other options that are included are the possibility for written and voice chat, create your playlists or even burn your CDs.
